Request a presentation or catboat display

The Cayman Catboat Club has a long tradition of using sailing, traditional boats and practical demonstrations to introduce students, residents and visitors to Cayman’s maritime heritage.

Planning a school activity, community event, wedding, exhibition, cultural programme or corporate function? The Club may be able to provide a presentation, catboat display or other participation depending on availability and the nature of the event.

When contacting us, please include:

  • Your contact details: Name, organisation and preferred reply method.
  • The occasion: The type of event and what you would like the Club to provide.
  • Date and time: Preferred date, start time and expected duration.
  • Location: Venue and any useful access information.
  • Audience: Approximate attendance and age group where relevant.
  • Other requirements: Any special arrangements or information we should know in advance.

Submitting an enquiry does not confirm a booking. Availability, arrangements and any applicable costs or requirements will be discussed before an event is confirmed.

Visit the Catboat Club

The Cayman Catboat Club is based at its historic waterfront clubhouse on North Church Street in George Town, Grand Cayman.

The property has been known historically as Captain Clark’s House, the Pink House and the Whitehall Bay Careening Place. Believed to date from the mid-19th century, it is one of the surviving links to George Town’s maritime past.

The waterfront around the property was historically associated with the careening of vessels, where schooners could be hauled over for cleaning, maintenance and repairs.

Location: North Church Street, George Town, Grand Cayman
Visiting arrangements: Please contact the Club before visiting, as public access and opening times may vary.

Books & publication enquiries

Information about books and publications connected with Cayman’s maritime history is available on our Books & Publications page.

Availability, pricing and purchase or collection arrangements may vary by title.

Historical material & research

If you have photographs, documents, vessel records, letters, logbooks or maritime memories to share, begin by sending the Foundation a short description of the material.

Please contact us before delivering original items or sending large collections of digital files so suitable arrangements can be made.

For research enquiries, include the person, vessel, place, event or subject you are investigating together with any known dates, names and sources. Even partial information may help connect records or identify new research leads.

Making an enquiry does not transfer ownership or automatically give permission for historical material to be published. Ownership, attribution and permission for use can be discussed as part of the contribution process.

Your information

Information submitted to the Cayman Catboat Club Association or Cayman Maritime Heritage Foundation will be used to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, administer related activities or records.

Please see our Privacy Notice for more information about how personal information is handled.
